What to expect:

• Most classes run three hours. Teen Night classes are 2.5 hours. Toddler’s First Taste classes are 75 minutes and are the only classes where caregivers will stay the entire time.
• Students are empowered to cook on their own, which builds confidence, independence, and healthy eating habits, all while gaining practical life skills, learning food literacy.
• The students set the community table and enjoy the delicious dish they have just created while practicing table manners.
• Classes are designed for each age group’s developmental stage. Each session and camp focuses on a specific skill or theme, with every class building on the last allowing them to progress through different levels of learning.

What to expect:

• 75-minute hands-on classes: toddlers, accompanied by one caregiver, explore basic cooking concepts while building fine motor skills.
• Introduction to Cooking: your child will practice simple tasks like washing produce, stirring ingredients, and learn about different kitchen tools and kitchen safety.
• Sensory Exploration: engaging activities introduce new textures, smells, and tastes, making learning fun and interactive.

Toddler’s First Taste classes are limited to one caregiver per child.

• 3-hour classes: students develop foundational skills to prepare recipes on their own, following step-by-step instructions with minimal assistance.
• Introduction to Cooking: your child will be introduced to the kitchen, making a meal from scratch and learning about different kitchen tools and kitchen safety.
• Sensory Exploration: engaging activities introduce new textures, smells, and tastes, making learning fun and interactive.
• Fine Motor Development: strengthen hand-eye coordination through safe, hands-on tasks like kneading dough or peeling vegetables.
• Early Math & Science Concepts: Learn simple measurements, counting ingredients, and understanding basic cooking reactions (e.g., how heat changes food).

• 3-hour classes: children follow multi-step recipes, experiment with flavors based on their personal preference, and practice safe cooking techniques.
• Cook with confidence: opportunities to think outside the box and get creative customizing recipes to their own taste and become more open to trying new foods.
• Food literacy: understand where food comes from, ingredient sourcing, and nutrition basics.
• Math & science concepts: students are exposed to the basic math concepts like fractions and division when cutting and measuring ingredients.
• After School Supper Club: 4PM weeknight classes ensure students cook a balanced, nutritious meal and enjoy supper together.

• Enriched learning: understand the importance of food literacy, apply fundamental math concepts, and practice critical thinking with conversations around eating locally and organically
• All skill-levels welcome: discover new cooking techniques, refine your skills, try new ingredients, and learn to balance flavors according to their preferences .

• 2.5 hour cooking classes: LKA Teen Nights give your teens a safe place to have fun while exploring the culinary world.
• Cook with confidence: learn a variety of cooking techniques, get comfortable using different kitchen tools and create meals independently and safely.
• Enriched learning: develop their knowledge about nutrition, eating locally and organically, and the impact of food choices on their minds, bodies and the environment.
• Fun with food trends: teen classes learn to make trending TikTok recipes, budget recipes before making them, and create home-made versions of restaurant or store-bought dishes. Other classes challenge teens to make recipes with limited tools or with new cooking techniques.
